Online certificate programs approved for WIOA funding
9,096 of 53,815 programs (17%) in the site's fields are taught fully online, and every one is approved for WIOA funding by a state. Another 14,764 mix online and in-person classes.
Most online programs are in RBT certification training (75%), interpreter training (59%) and medical billing and coding training (44%). WIOA pays for programs on your state's list of approved programs; one approved only in another state can be paid for only where your state's and local area's rules allow it, so each state's page lists only the online programs it approved.1

Online programs approved in each state
Each state's page lists its online programs field by field. A state gets a page once it approves 10 online programs.
How states file this differs. Kentucky, Mississippi, New Jersey and Puerto Rico file no program as taught fully online. Check each program with the school.

How online programs are counted
- Programs: every program in the site's 95 fields that a state approved for WIOA funding, from its eligible training provider list,6 in the US Department of Labor's file for program year 2024 (July 2024 to June 2025). A program counts for the state that approved it.
- Online: the school filed the program as taught fully online. A mix of online and in-person classes counts as hybrid and is left out here.
